Scalable Application Architecture on AWS
Applications running on a single machine can work perfectly until the user base grows and one machine no longer suffices. The focus of this lecture is on building isolated and scalable microservices architecture using Amazon Web Services. I will mostly talk about Docker and ECS, but I will also mention other tools that helped my team achieve this on our application — Productive.
Learn by Teaching
Have you ever felt like there are no new challenges and your career is at its peak? Do you feel like you have received more from the community than you have given back? While you can always find challenges by switching languages or companies, doing open source or speaking at conferences, I decided to go down a different road: to become a teacher and a mentor. If you are interested in learning more about the how and the what, join me for this talk. I strictly enforce the 'There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers' guideline, but the types of simple and sometimes silly questions you get from wondering young minds are just amazing! This talk will cover not only what I have learned from teaching/mentoring, but it will also give you some guidelines on how to start, including some tips & tricks, and it will show you how easy it can be to set it all up!
