Sandoz is part of Novartis, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Well-known for their groundbreaking generics and biosimilars, Sandoz is now also focused on becoming a leader in digital healthcare.
Studies show that nearly half 50 percent of patients do not take their medications as prescribed. Because skipping or misusing prescriptions can be hazardous to one’s health, this is a major problem for both patients and the healthcare system at large.
When a doctor prescribes a medication, they typically issue the treatment regimen in written format. This means the patient must either memorize their prescription schedule or set manual reminders. As a result, many patients forget to take the right dose at the right time.
We addressed this widespread problem by adding QR codes to pharmacy receipts nationwide. Each QR code contains all relevant therapy information. Once scanned, the data is uploaded to the app, which immediately adapts to each patient’s unique regimen. The patient is then automatically reminded every time they need to take a dose.
This innovative app also allows patients to set up reminders to measure their vitals, such as blood pressure, heart rate and glucose levels. The results can be logged and easily included in reports for healthcare providers.
These helpful reports include all stats related to a patient’s therapy in addition to updates about how well they are sticking to the treatment schedule. This allows the doctor to easily assess how the patient’s treatment is progressing.
Have a doctor’s appointment? Patients can also set reminders for their next visit.
If your grandparents are like most, they might not be as tech savvy as you. No problem! This app’s multiple user support feature allows you to set reminders for family members.
Doctors usually send treatment regimens to the pharmacy in digital format. After researching how this process works, we created an innovative data input solution for healthcare providers.
Using the patient’s ID card, pharmacists can easily track down their prescription. When we designed this app, we came up with a way to electronically pass that information along to the patient, as well. This feature greatly simplifies things for doctors, pharmacists and, most importantly, patients.
Personal health is an extremely private and sensitive matter. We took this into consideration while building this solution. All data within the app is completely anonymous. This means we do not store personal information, such as names or emails, and we cannot match an individual with their prescriptions.
